Santa Cruz wants to win Champions League

He scored five goals in 28 appearances in the Bundesliga, and one goal in 15 Champions League games. Who would have thought that Roque Santa Cruz would make such an impact in his first season with FC Bayern? In a Live Chat the Paraguayan player looked back on his record at Bayern and talked about his goals for next season. One ambition dominates - to win the Champions League.

Putten: How do you like it in Munich?
Roque Santa Cruz: It's great here. I feel really good in Munich and the people have been great from the start.

Suzan: So you have a girlfriend?
Roque Santa Cruz: Yes, in Paraguay. She's called Giselle.

Eva (16): Do you miss your family?
Roque Santa Cruz: No so much, because my mum and dad often visit me here.

Susie: Do you like German food?
Roque Santa Cruz: Yes I do, especially 'Fleischpflanzerl'

Bui: When were you last in Paraguay?
Roque Santa Cruz: I was on holiday there for the whole of June. But I spent most of my time in the national team training camp

Sonja (19): Did you go on holiday in the summer break?
Roque Santa Cruz: No, just back to Paraguay.

Steffi (15): Who is your favourite player?
Roque Santa Cruz: It used to be van Basten. Now it's Ronaldo.

Hundel: What are your hobbies?
Roque Santa Cruz: All kinds of sport, especially tennis and basketball. I like to listen to music, I buy CDs and I just hang out with friends.

Qball: What attracted you to FC Bayern?
Roque Santa Cruz: From the start of the negotiations the Bayern bosses were very courteous and obliging. And of course, Bayern's a major club.

Brazza: Hola Roque! What are the biggest differences between football in Germany and football in Paraguay?
Roque Santa Cruz: Mainly the infrastructure. The stadiums over here are much better than in Paraguay. The pitch is softer and so on.

Zico: What's you biggest wish?
Roque Santa Cruz: To win the Champions League!

Gullig: What do you think of the two new signings Sforza and Sagnol?
Roque Santa Cruz: As people they're very open and nice - good friends. As players, they're simply good.

RedRay: How many goals are you going to score next season?
Roque Santa Cruz: As many as possible, I hope. But I'd be very happy with ten.

CB letzer: Which is your most important goal so far?
Roque Santa Cruz: All goals are important, but especially the ones you score for your country. But my first goal for Bayern was also very important.

SpaceMonkey: Who's your best friend at Bayern?
Roque Santa Cruz: Sergio, Elber, Liza, Brazzo.

FCKstar: Have you got friends in other Bundesliga teams?
Roque Santa Cruz: No, not yet.

Katja: Which player would you like to play alongside?
Roque Santa Cruz: The ones I play with now. And maybe Figo or Zidane sometime.

Gullig: What's your favourite music?
Roque Santa Cruz: Pop, romantic music, Latin music.

Juliane: What do you do at training camp when you're not actually training?
Roque Santa Cruz: I read, play computer games and listen to music, and I improve my German...

Sorushfcb: What time do you go to bed at training camp?
Roque Santa Cruz: We go to our rooms after we've eaten. But we can go to sleep when we like.

Frodo: Is there a weakness you are working on particularly? Do you do any special training?
Roque Santa Cruz: No, nothing special.

Botzi: Which stadium in the Bundesliga do you like?
Roque Santa Cruz: The Olympic stadium, Leverkusen and Kaiserslautern too.

SergioFan: How old were you when you started playing football?
Roque Santa Cruz: Eight years old.

SergioSantaCruz: Which club do you think is the biggest challenger to the championship?
Roque Santa Cruz: (long groan) Leverkusen maybe, or Dortmund.

Gangsterin: How often will you play this season? More often than last season?
Roque Santa Cruz: I hope so, of course.

Michihuel: Did you always know you were going to be a professional footballer?
Roque Santa Cruz: When I was 15, I started playing at Olympia Ascuncion. From then on that was my wish.

Justo: What's your motto in life?
Roque Santa Cruz: If you work hard, success comes naturally.

RedRay: How do you cope with defeats?
Roque Santa Cruz: I don't like them at all.

Julia: How many hours a day do you train?
Roque Santa Cruz: About three.

Gullig: Which European league do you think is the strongest?
Roque Santa Cruz: Many people would say Italy. But I don't think England, Spain and Germany are far behind.

Michael Schaefer: Which is your dream club after FC Bayern?
Roque Santa Cruz: I'd like to stay with Bayern for a long time. I've still got a lot of time to think about it.

Zico: What do you miss from your homeland?
Roque Santa Cruz: The food, sometimes, but mainly my family.

Sonja: Are you proud to play for FC Bayern?
Roque Santa Cruz: Of course. Who wouldn't be?

FCKstar: Are you a star back home because you play in Munich or don't they really care about that?
Roque Santa Cruz: Yes, they do a bit. They like me as a player. I think I'm quite well known there.

FCKstar: What's your opinion of German football?
Roque Santa Cruz: They won the World Cup three times - that says it all.

Gast: Is it very stressful playing for your national team and for FC Bayern Munich?
Roque Santa Cruz: Yes, but because of the travelling, not the games.

Fairynane: What's your 19th birthday wish?
Roque Santa Cruz: We're playing Argentina on my birthday. So of course we want to beat them, and I want a successful year for Bayern.

Suzan: What would be the high point of your career?
Roque Santa Cruz: Winning the Champions League, and winning the World Cup with Paraguay!

Hundel: What headline would you like to see written about yourself?
Roque Santa Cruz: "Roque scores winning goal in Bayern Champions League triumph!"
