The raiders had the lead throughout the first game.  Despite being covered in slobber, we pecked our way through chicken dishes in the first round, giving us a 5-1 lead.  As more rats showed up, they almost caught up, and the finish was close.

The second game started with a tie round with the periodic elements cat.  The second round was a double round, and the rats slithered ahead with a 17-7 lead. They kept the lead to the end, although raiders were able to pillage through the slober to score 27 points.

The third game was close throughout, but the raiders held the lead except for once, when the rats overtook them with the "eyes and vision" cat. We were tied after the "volcanoes" cat at 29-29, and this reporter ran out of nails to chew.  The raiders pounded their keyboards to a 36-32 finish.  Thanks rats for an exciting game!  Next time raiders play the rats, I will be handing out Depends to all players!

attendance was a problem because i screwed up the pre-game email.  a huge apology to wendy and lauren who showed up too late for the game because of my oafishness.

anyway... game well played by both teams.  It was a nail-biter - the very best kind of game to win.  Congrats Raiders.

Well, it was my first match since the first week.  I took a monthlong sabbatical (read:my WebTV blew up).  I've heard we've had a real attendance problem but 10 of us at least made cameo appearances tonight.  Alas, it wasn't enough. Breakdown:

1980's metal bands:  19-10

(MVP)  SLAVE~2~HUSBAND

It started as a slow evening, with a very low turnout, just me and Slave against five Packers, but we just high fived and said "We can take it."  By the end of the first game, we were hardly alone anymore!  But the Pack jumped out to a healthy 18-6 lead and took game one 30-18. In game 2, we stayed pretty much close until right around the middle, lightdancer made it and had a smashing entrance on the wedding cat, then we got the beans above the frank and had a lucky draw on the Doris Day answers and finished out with the win of 30-23. In game 3, it started with a 4-4 tie, but the cats were good, Slave was HOT! And we conquered game 3 with a score of 33-23.

(MVP)  Libra & Fynder

The Rocks took a 7 - 2 lead in the first cat "M" male names.  We fought back and we fought hard but the Rocks kept the lead through the next 5 cats - Star Trek Characters, Classical Composers, 2 Word Movie Titles beginning with THE, Things in a Laundromat and Dictionary Abbreviations.  With the Rocks up by 2 and a score of 25 - 23 it was anybody's game.  The next cat Window Dressings resulted in a 31 -31 tie.  Typical Wonder/Rock suspensful game.  We took the game 37 - 25 in the final cat - words with EAR in them.

Game Two started off with the Wonders ahead 9 - 1 after the 1st cat - Types of Art.  The Rocks tried desperately to make a comeback but it was hard for them to overcome our 8 point lead through the next several cats - Oscar Winning Actresses, Chevy Chase Films, and 20th Century Artists.  We increased our lead to 28 - 15 with Cat Breeds and finished the game with Sally Field Movies.  Final Score 36 - 23. Great Game Rockers!! Wiggle On Wonders!!
