COLORS AND MARKINGS
Facial Markings
These include, star, stripe, interrupted strip, snip, blaze, white face and white muzzle.
Leg Markings
White to knee, mid-cannon, half-pastern, crown and coronet.
Colors
Grey: A mixture of black and white hairs throughout. The coat varies from light to iron(very dark). The skin is black.
Fleabitten Grey: Grey coat flecked with brown specks.
Dappled Grey: Light grey base coat with dark grey rings.
Bay: Reddish coat with black mane, tail and "points" (i.e. limbs) The coat color may vary from red to brown or yellowish.
Black: All black except for occasional white marks on the legs and/or head.
Chestnut: Varies from a pale golden color to a rich, red gold. The mane and tail may be lighter or darker than the coat color.
Liver Chestnut: The darkest of the chestnut shades.
Sorrel: A light-red chestnut.
Brown: A mixture of black and brown hairs, with black limbs, mane and tail. A very dark brown horse may appear almost black.
Roan: A body color with white hairs interspersed, which lightens the overall effect.
Strawberry Roan: Chestnut body color with white hair giving a pinkish-red tinge.
Blue Roan: Black or brown body color with white hair giving a blue tinge.
Dun: Light sandy-colored coat with black mane and tail, often accompanied bya dark, dorsal eel-stripe extending from the line of the neck to the tail, and sometimes by "zebra markings" on the withers and legs - the vestiges of a primitive form of camouflage. Dun can vary from yellow to "mouse", depending on the diffusion of pigment. The skin is black.
Palomino: Gold coat with white mane and tail.
Spotted: Small, more or less circular patches of hair of a different color from the main body color and distributed over various areas of the body.
Piebald: Large, irregular patches of black and white.
Skewbald: Large, irregular patches of white and any other color except black.
Cream: Cream-colored coat with unpigmented skin (also known as cremello).
Brindle: Brown or grey streaked or patched with a darker color.

Paint: Because horses of various breeds are eligible for registration as Paint horses, there is accordingly a degree of variation in the height and overall size. However, all American Paint Horses have distinct stock-type confirmation. This may be generally defined as an animal whose bone and muscle construction make it highly adaptable to ranch work. It will be both versitile and athletic.
Thoroughbred: May be as small as 14.2 hh or over 17hh. Average 16 - 16.2hh
Color: All solid colors. Common colors, bay, chestnut, brown, black & roan
Ancestry: Arab -> Turk -> Barb -> Galloway
Knabstrup: Danish spotted horse mainly used for leisure. Frequently used in circuses, now also show ring & competitive sports. No two are alike. Most sought after is the full spotted leopard. Sloped shoulders, deep, wide chest, long back. Size 14.3-16 hands. Known for its calmness, friendly temper,
intelligence & aptness to learn, speed & endurance.
