WOLVES
Wolves are carnivorous mammals closely related to the jackal and domestic dog. They are so closely related to domestic dog's that they can be interbred with excellent results.
The adult wolf can reach a length (including it's tail) of up to 2m (6.5ft). Males can weigh anywhere between 32 and 45 Kilograms (70-100 lbs) and the females can have a weight of anywhere between 24 and 41 kilograms (55-90 lbs). All wolves have powerful teeth, with canines being able to grow to a length of 6.25cm (2.5 inches), round pupils and bushy tails.
There are two recognized species today, these are:
* Canis lupus Gray - or Timber- wolf
* Canis rufus Red Wolf

Wolves primarily inhabit forest lands, prairies, and pretty much all but the highest mountains. Their diet can consist of small animals, birds, berries and if no live food can be found they will resort to carrion for survival.
A wolf's den may be situated in a cave,or a thicket, or hollow tree trunk, or maybe even just a plain old hole in the ground. The female's can have a litter with as little as 1 pup or as much as 11 pups around Springtime. The pups will remain with the parents (creating a basic Pack) until the following Winter.
