Club Profile

The club received its charter certificate from the Rotary International on June 12, 1987 through the pioneering spirit of DG Tino Cacanindin. It is the 8th club (youngest) in Mandaluyong Zone, 33rd in the District and 22,951 in RI list.
Aside from strengthening and learning the avenues of service, the club spent its first year under its Charter President Rudy Alonso, Jr. The club held several medical missions and contribute to the "Alay sa Kapwa" project by adopting an army platoon. On its 2nd year under P Ben Sanchez, it was able to establish a RVC at the Welfareville Compound and launched an auto mechanic scholarship program. The next year, under P Joey Loberiza, the club's standing soared to the top 5 in District 3800. A cooperative store for the RVC was established and the monthly medical and feeding missions were continued all of which the club earned RI Achievement Award.
RY 1990-91, P Mon Calimbahin continued the projects initiated by his predecessors. Relief goods were sent as far as Aringay and Agoo, La Union earthquake victims. Also, the second RVC at Barangay Barangka was organized. During P Leni Tuason's term, aside from the continuation of medical missions and vocational scholarship programs, the club made trips to Palawig, Zambales to alleviate the plight of the victims of Mt. Pinatubo eruption. During the Rotary year, RI Pres. Clifford Dochterman visited and witnessed the feeding program of indigent children at our RVC Welfareville Compound.
The next years witnessed the continuation of the foregoing projects and missions in an expanded magnitude and the club went on to host District affairs and sports tournaments; sister-club arrangement with other Rotary clubs was forged. The continued success of the humanitarian efforts was also hampered by a common problem, that is dwindling membership and this was manifested towards the year 1997-98. This predicament, however, proved to be temporary. When Pres. Tata Esteban took charge during RY 1998-99 and with the remarkable efforts of PE Nonoy Miravalles, membership increased from 9 to 27. For that year, the club got a recognition for the highest in membership growth.
RY 1999-2000 under P Nonoy Miravalles, proved to be an exceptional year. First semester alone, membership soared up to almost doubled. The club handily won the championship in the District duckpin bowling tournament. DISCON 2000, the club registered 25 participants, some of whom were instrumental in garnering for the Mandaluyong Zone runner-up honors in the talent night.
At the start of RY 2000-2001 saw a dramatic decline in the club's membership brought about by transfers of address and work assignments of the members, however, with P Nelson Aspe's vigilant recruitment, five new members were inducted as of October 2000. Fellowship involvement was very much felt with P Nelson joining the District sports tournament. Contribution to TRF stood at US$ 2,100.00 easily making the club among the top 10 contributors.
