Club Profile
|
The club received its charter from Rotary International on November 29, 1993, through the efforts of the sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of East Rizal and the DGSR Greg Ariola. The charter presentation and induction of members and officers were held on December 14, 1993 at Bahay-bahayan Restaurant in Antipolo City. The 30 charter members inducted during the momentous night was headed by charter president Luizo C. Ticman.
CP Louie wasted no time during its first year of existence in steering the club skillfully and embarking on ambitious projects for the community. The performance of the club was recognized by the District, it was awarded with the responsibility of hosting the District PalaRotary (sportfest) during its rookie year, a clear manifestation of the trust and confidence given by the district to a very young and untested club.
Its second year president is Ed Ayaquil. His crowning achievement was relief distribution at the resettlement area of lahar victims in Pampanga and Tarlac. The club distributed about PhP 300,000.00 worth (2-truckloads) of relief goods which was more than the value of goods distributed by the entire district during that time and hosted the District Shootfest at Antipolo PNP Shooting Range.
RY 1996-1997 President Juancho Botor - two district pioneering projects: District Mass Induction, which placed the club in the history books of the entire Rotary International and the first 9-Ball Billiard Tournament was hosted by the club. Bahaghari, the official club bulletin was born along with the organization of Rotaract and Interact Clubs.
Pres. Abet S. J. Dedeles RY 1997-1998, various community-based projects were implemented. A Street Watch seminar was also conducted with a record attendance of 96 surpassing all records set the Foundation for Crime Prevention in its 5 pilot areas.
Under the stewardship of Pres. Lourdes "Lou" Santiago, RY 1998-1999, various community projects were also undertaken. Despite the economic crisis that we were in, the club managed to implement projects in the four avenues of service that earned a Presidential Citation from R.I. President.
Y2K Pres. Ed Villanueva - Service to the community was tested when a strong typhoon hit the country and flooded the whole of Metro Manila. Relief operations were held at three different remote areas of Cainta.
The Action President for Rotary Year 2000-2001 was Pres. Arnaldo "Arnold" Tuma-ob. Under his leadership, the club has aggressively undertaken projects anchored on a well-balanced program placing the club in the elite list of top ten performing clubs in the district.
