For 31 years now, since its chartering on June 9, 1970, the Rotary Club of San Juan has been giving SERVICE ABOVE SELF in the true Rotary spirit to the communities, spreading the warmth of friendships, goodwill and understanding, bringing dignity and hope for a better life to people.
The club has produced outstanding district governors, Ernani V. Certeza (1972-1973) and Jose Peralta (1999-2000) and beside PDG Nani and Pepe, the strength of the club is enhanced by the all out support of the following past presidents who are still active: PP Narciso Padilla (1975-76); PP Rudy Topacio (1977-78); PP Jimmy Ortigas (1979-80); PP Ronald Reidenbach (1980-81); PP Antonio Abola (1983-84); PP Proceso T. Chua, PP Earl Hornbostel; PP Arsenio N. Topacio (1993-94); PP Faustino Mabanta (1994-95); PP Manuel Guia (1995-96); PP Lourdes Farcon (1997-1998); PP Jose V. Lim (1998-1999); PP Willy Magno (1999-2000); PP David Supangco (2000-2001); IPP Eduardo Lim (2001-2002)
All the members of the club in year 2000 are either a Major Donor, Benefactor, Multiple Paul Harris Fellows, Paul Harris or Paul Harris Fellow Sustaining Member achieving 100% contributor to The Rotary Foundation.
The club is also proud to have its own Rotary Foundation with a sizeable trust fund the interest of which are earmarked for the projects of the Rotary Club of San Juan.
All this and the commitment of all the 35 members in pursuit of the goals of Rotary in the Four Avenues of Service makes the Rotary Club of San Juan an outstanding club.
