Club Profile

The Rotary Club of Malabon conceived the sponsorship of what was to be known as the Rotary Club of Navotas in May 1977. The list of membership was finalized in the following month of June.
With the framework of organization completed, the new club was formally organized on July of the same year. It did not take long for the club to operate provisionally. In September 26, 1977, the Rotary Club of Navotas as finally chartered and admitted to Rotary International. The late Alberto "Bert" A. Soyangco, a banker, was its charter president and the person who worked hard to organize the club since its conception.
Until the few years from 1977, only the Rotary Club of Malabon can organize a Rotary Club in Navotas. Navotas was then included in the territory of Malabon, stating relinquishment of the territory of Navotas from its corporate limits that gave way for the organization of the first Rotary club in the town of Navotas.
In 1980, the Rotary Club of Navotas sired its first daughter club, the Rotary Club of Northbay. This was to be followed by the birth of the second daughter club, the Rotary Club of Dagat-dagatan in 1983.
The Rotary Club of Navotas was not spared of crisis in the course of its existence. It has gone through rough waters many times, but never did it flounder. It has steadily kept its course. The club steadily grew in determination because of its hold were determined crewmembers and dynamic leaders who were to become captains.
Today, its is indeed the pride and honor of the Rotary Club of Navotas to have elected as Governor of RI District 3800 for RY 2001-2002, one of its members, PP Edison U. Ang. With this, the club will aim higher and look forward for more opportunities to serve the less fortunate constituents of its community to continue the tradition and objectives of Rotary as a whole.
