Club Profile

The Rotary Club of Caloocan Monumento (RCCM) was chartered and formally admitted to Rotary world on the 28th day of February 2001 with the Rotary Club of Kalookan under President Rey Vistro as the sponsoring club. Mainly responsible for its organization and rotarization were District Governor Teddy Zamora, DGSR Tommy Cua and former members of the Rotary Club of Monumento (RCM) most of whom are its past presidents who consider the new club as their brainchild.
The Rotary Club of Caloocan Monumento was set in motion on August 14, 2000 at Max's Restaurant along EDSA, Caloocan City during the very first meeting presided by DG Teddy Zamora. With him were District Extension Chairman Bennie Sayo and PDG Edi Chua who was also the District International Service Chairman and District Trainor. Initially, there were only thirteen (13) prospective members who attended that first meeting.
It was on August 21, 2000 during a regular meeting held at The China Restaurant, Quezon City that an election of the board of directors and charter officers was held. Also, during the meeting, the constitution and by-laws was drafted by Atty. Alfredo B. Loyola, a topnotch litigation lawyer. He was unanimously chosen and elected as the club Charter President. Others elected were: Charter VP for Internal Affairs - Francisco "Francis" C. Palacio; Charter VP for External Affairs - Florentino "Jun" S. Dulalia, Jr.; Charter Secretary - Leo "Lei" I. Inosanto; Chater Treasurer - Crescente "Cris" A. Tacardon; Charter Auditor - Mario "Mar" H. Tiano; Charter PRO - Nestor "Mike" C. Cinco; Charter Sergeant-At-Arms - Jose "Peping" G. Muoz, Jr.; and Charter Adviser - Jacob "Jake" C. Kliatchko.
When it was chartered on February 28, 2001, the provisional club has thirty three (33) members - ten of whom were former presidents of the Rotary Club of Monumento and one was a former president of the Rotary Club of Kalookan. Though not too many, it is a well-balanced group with ages ranging from 23 to 70 years old and with a highly diversified classification. It has nine Paul Harris Fellows who were consistently participating in international conventions.
The formal charter presentation and induction ceremonies at the Mabuhay Room at the Manila Hotel on April 26, 2001, Thursday, marks the birth of the Rotary Club of Caloocan Monumento.
The young and vibrant Rotary Club of Monumento has great plans for the future. Together with the other clubs in the district and the Inner Wheel Club of Monumento, they will continue their mission for excellent community service.
