Club Profile

The Rotary Club of Grace Park was organized in October 1980 under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Kalookan. The club, the second Rotary club in the City of Caloocan, shares with its mother club the entire city as its territory.
The ideal of organizing a Rotary Club in the Grace Park area came from Rtn. Romeo Lorenzo who was in turn requested by the Rotary Club of Kalookan (where he was once a member). Rtn. Romy, as chairman of a group known as the "Magnificent 12" Club-or M-12- proposed the idea to its members who reacted favorably to the idea.
The first meeting of the Rotary Club of Grace Park was held on 17 October 1980 (Friday) at the Bonanza Restaurant, EDSA, Quezon City. During the meeting, the members elected the Provisional officers and directors of the club, to wit:

President Mars Quesada
Vice President Eddie Silverio
Secretary Dado Mendoza
Treasurer Momoy Coronel
Auditor Frank Lui
Sergeant-At-Arms Teddy Lerma
Club Service Director Romy Lorenzo
Community Service Director Jake Arambulo
International Service Director George Wang
Vocational Service Director Francis Laurel

Present during the meeting were the charter members of the proposed Rotary Club, to wit: Joaquin Jake" Arambulo, Robert "Robert" Braganza, Felicisimo "Momoy" Coronel, Ruben "Ruben" Lao, Francisco "Francis" Laurel, Romeo "Romy" Lorenzo, Francisco "Frank" Lui, Mariano "Mars" Quesada, Francisco "Frankie" Hingkok Qua, Domingo "Doming" Silverio, Igmedio "Eddie" Silverio, Raul "Raul" de Mesa, Antonio "Tony" Fabiran, Diosdado "Dado" Mendoza and Victor "Vic" Trinidad.
The other charter members were: Pedro "Pete" Belen, Alfonso "Al" Buenpacifico, Cesar "Cesar" Colcol, Cesario "Cesar" Davila, Jr., Mansueto "Mans" Gatera, Hernando "Nards" de Guzman, Teodoro "Teddy" Lerma, Renato "Rey" Martin, Angelico "Lito" Medel, Manuel "Manolo" Paez, Jr. Manuel "Mannix" Pilares, Jr. and Perfecto "Pepito" Tiongzon.
From then on, the new club held its weekly meetings. On June 29, 1981, Rotary International granted the charter to the Rotary Club of Grace Park.
Through its existence, the club focus on the vision and realization of helping the less fortunate in the communities of Caloocan through its various projects and programs.
