Club Profile

The Rotary Club of Downtown San Juan was chartered on June 28, 1984 with 23 charter members under the governorship of PDG Mike Ampil. Since its chartering, it has been meeting regularly at 7:30 in the evening. Now the regular meeting place is at Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila.
At the beginning of RY 2000-2001, there were only 15 active members, but before the year 2000 ended 2 new members were added, making the total active members to 17. On March 1, 2000, one additional member was inducted bringing the total membership to 18. The average age of the membership is about 45 years old.
The roster of filled and unfilled classification showed 50 classifications representing the cross section of the business, professions and government offices in the downtown area of San Juan, Metro Manila. The total classifications loaned to members, represent about 20% of the roster filled and unfilled classification. All members represent active classification. Not a single member is under additional active, past service or senior active status.
RC Downtown San Juan is strengthening its club service through frequent fellowship and upgrading its weekly programme. It is divided into four club groups, and each group is encouraging each member to attend the weekly meetings and to attend district functions. Points were being given to every member for their attendance to the meetings, projects and district functions. Those who garnered the highest points would be given prizes.
