Club Profile

The desire to organize a Rotary Club within the territorial boundaries of Village East Executive Homes in Cainta, Rizal started during the latter part of Rotary year 1998-1999 during the term of PDG Antonio "Tony" B. Co. Initial attempts were made by PP Rudy San Felipe of RC Lakeshore Rizal and PP Jack Sia of RC Mandaluyong North. Their partnership was to invite new members while PP Rudy San Felipe was to handle the orientation sessions.
The Rotary Club of Cainta under the leadership of then Pres. Bobby Gabiola during the second half of Rotary year 1999-2000 made the second attempt to organize a club within the area. Thus, on January 26, 2000 then District Governor Jose "Pepe" F. Peralta appointed Rtn. Julio Narag of RC Cainta to be the DGSR with the primary task of organizing a new club at Village East. Rtn. Jules immediately worked hard in his new assignment. Jules, with the assistance of Rtn. Danny Duldulao, both residents of the village, were successful in inviting 26 other residents to join and organize a Rotary club within the village.
Starting February 2000, Rtn. Jules organized Friday night meetings for all interested people. Weekly, they meet to talk on what is Rotary International and how it is to become rotarized. The members of Rotary Club of Cainta took turns in being the resource persons to talk on the history, organization, membership, services and other basic information about the Rotary International. Pres. Bobby Gabiola, PE Girlie A. Tom, PP Boyet Fernandez and Rtn. Lally Manabat were most instrumental in these information sharing.
As fate would have it, on May 5, 2000 when the new club needed to elect its officers, Rtn. Jules was unanimously chosen to be the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Cainta East.
With Jules' election, RC Cainta endorsed the appointed of Rtn. Lally Manabat, as the new DGSR to assist him. Immediately, the tandem organized additional orientation program of Rotary International for the members of the new club. DGSR Lally would later single-handedly process the application for membership of RC Cainta East in Rotary International. The application was filed on May 19, 2000.
On June 28, 2000, Rotary International officially accepted for membership the new Rotary Club of Cainta East under District 3800.
It is to the credit and whole-hearted dedication of the Rotarians mentioned above and Rotary Club of Cainta that the new Rotary Club of Cainta East has finally risen and is now taking roots to become another anchor in the growth and development of R.I. District 3800. With their unwavering support and assistance, RC Cainta East will live up to PP Boyet Fernandez' statement that "the charter members of RC Cainta East has a lot of potentials.
