Rico Yan:Looks for romance & lives for love
Rico Yan is now one of the country's real acting talents! He conquers love, fun, and romance in Star Cinema's Got 2 Believe! A light romance comedy by director Olivia M. Lamasan (Minsan Minahal Kita, Madrasta), in a screenplay collaboration with Mia Concio (Kahit Isang Saglit), Got 2 Believe will make everyone fall in love, happily ever after.
When Rico played Claudine Baretto's reluctant college prey in Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita, everybody saw an acting talent set to conquer hearts. In Gimik the Reunion, he was convincing as the entrepreneur whose luck comes late in love. Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay tagged him the teen idol to watch. The successful Mula Sa Puso, from the soap to the movie version, showed his consistent acting prowess.
What Rico Yan found interesting about Got 2 Believe is its novel way of telling the story. "I find the movie lovable while doing it. Here are two people with different worlds but with similar needs. They both want to be accepted, wanted to have love and wanted to live life. So they're both trying to find their place under the sun. Kaya lang meron silang mga personalities na kailangang tanggapin nila dahil flaws nila iyung mga iyun. That, I think adds to the color and fun of Got 2 Believe," he says.
Playing opposite Claudine Barretto is another angle that enticed Rico to play Lorenz. "The professional bonding between Lorenz and Toni were becoming more personal dahil nadidiscover nila kung ano ang flaws at pangangailangan ng bawat isa. From there, the unpredicatability of the movie's story will come. That's why Got 2 Believe is full of surprises, like magic. May fun, merong romance, basically kasi I also have a really romantic side," Rico says with a smile.
