The Correct Diet
It is important to balance a dog's diet according to its age, size, activity level, and general health status. Check with your vet for the type of petfood for your beloved ones.
A Friendly Reminder - CHOCOLATE / COCOA contains a chemical called theobromine and takes 18 hours for your dog to metabolize and cleared by the liver. Toxic levels of theobromine can soon build up, especially if the liver is not functioning well.
Grooming
Grooming aerates the coat and stimulates blood supply to the skin. This all contributes to a healthy coat. It also removes many of the dead hairs that are constantly being shed by almost all breeds. A healthy dog has a glossy coat with a sheen on it.
Nail and Eye Care
Nail should be cut so that when the dog is standing, they are just in contact with the ground or a little above it.
Eyes should also be cleaned regularly - use a damp cotton ball to clean. You may use special eye cleaners or plain water to wipe.
Dental Hygiene
"Dog breath" is not a normal canine phenomenon. In the majority of cases it is caused by dirty teeth and gums. Try to make a toothbrushing session part of your dog's daily routine - use some "doggy" flavours toothpaste and rub onto dog's teeth with your fingers. Next to use a small, soft toothbrush or a plastic finger brush to rub.
There are dogs who just wouldnt compromise with their teeth brushed, try to go for gels and chews that help to remove plaque from the teeth.
