Obituary for Zelda Yarnell

Zelda Katharine Yarnell, age 97, daughter of Thomas and Alice Hamrick, was born March 20, 1910, near Plato in Texas Co. She died Sept. 3, 2007 at Bolivar, Missouri after living in a nursing home in Stockton, Missouri for several years.

She married Curtis Jesse Yarnell April 7, 1934. They built and pastored churches in Texas County including Fowler, Bethel Chapel, Fairview, Licking and Cabool.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Benton and Jasper Hamrick; sisters, Lagola Bolding, Althea Wade, and Alma Bohannon; a son, Curtis Marvin Yarnell; and a great-grandson, Gregory Scott Longbine.

Surviving are her husband Curtis of Stockton; son Ervin Yarnell of Eudora, Kan., son Gerald Yarnell of Nixa, Mo., son Robert Yarnell of Rudy, Ark.; and daughter Lois Cunningham of Edgar Springs, Mo.; one brother, Lawrence Hamrick of Houston; one sister, Laura of Muncie, Ind.; twenty-one grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 6 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking, Mo. with the Rev. David Jett officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery.
