Obituary for J.H. "Joe" Yarnell

J.H. "Joe" Yarnell, age 98, of 5304 Springbrook Drive, and formerly of the Springfield, Mass., area, died here Tuesday, June 9, 1992.

For more than 40 years, he worked at the former Springfield plant of Westinghouse Corp. He retired as a supervisor 33 years ago.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he lived formerly in Springfield and the Hazardville section of Enfield, Conn. He was a member of the Roswell-Samuel Osgood Masonic Lodge. His wife, the former Anna D. Heckmann, died in 1981.

He leaves a son, Roy O. Yarnell of East Longmeadow, Mass.; three daughters, Anne Gunn of Bradenton, Fla., Dorothy Hildreth of East Longmeadow, and Joyce Hutchinson of Wausau; 15 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Dawson and Edward Yarnell, were killed in World War II.   Mr. Yarnell was also predeceased by a daughter, Betty M. Hester.

The funeral and burial are private at the family's convenience, and there are no calling hours. Byron's State Street Funeral Home of Springfield is in charge.
