James Russell 'Jim' Yarnall

James "Jim" Yarnall, 86, son of Frank and Priscilla (Stottlemyre) Yarnall, was born June 13, 1919, at Dykes, Texas Co., Missouri. He died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at the home of his granddaughter in Springfield, Missouri. He lived most of his life in the Houston and Cabool area in Texas County, Missouri.

He had a passion and love for drive-in restaurants and the donut business. He loved the challenge of purchasing a restaurant and turning it into a profitable business. He worked the restaurant business until his legs could no longer keep up with him. He was a veteran of World War II and active in veterans programs including the establishment of several American Legion posts and Veterans Administration programs in southwest Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pearl (Brown) Yarnall; a daughter, Patsy Minear; and siblings, Leo, Duey, Cleo, Owens, Milford, Ralph, Clovis and Rea.

Surviving are two sons, Virgil Yarnall of Springfield, MO and Scott Yarnall of Nixa, MO; a sister, Juanita Teegarden of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; one brother, Curtis Yarnell of Stockton, MO, formerly of Licking, MO; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and step-children; and close friend, Esther Hobbs.

Services were Nov. 22, 2005 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Terrill officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery, Houston, Texas Co., Missouri.
