DIES AT AGE OF 80 FROM GANGRENE AFTER PICKING CORN

As the result of gangrene, which developed after he had picked a corn on his left foot, Holton Yarnall, 80 years of age, and a life-long resident of Wilmington, died at his residence, No. 814 Jefferson street, yesterday. He had been ill two weeks. His advanced years prevented a successful battle against the dreaded poisoning.
Mr. Yarnall was a ship joiner and a veteran employe of the Harlan and Hollingsworth Corporation, having been in the employ of that company for fifty years. He also was a veteran of the Civil War, a member of Lafayette Lodge of Masons and of the Fame Fire Company.
He leaves a wife, Mrs. Sallie J. Yarnall, and five children, and six grandchildren. His children are Mrs. Nellie Rutter, Mrs. Gertrude Carey, Willard, Holton and Alexis Yarnall.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Yarnall residence, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. W. F. Corkran, of Union Methodist Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Riverview cemetery.
