David was a graduate of Rice Memorial, the University of Vermont, and the University of Maine Law School in 1970. Following graduation, he clerked for the Hon. Bernard J. Leddy, Chief U.S. District Judge, District of Vermont from 1970-1971. He then joined the law firm of Kissane Associates in St. Albans where he practiced for the next 32 years.

He was a member of the Franklin County Bar Association and its president from 1966-1997; a member of the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association and its president from 1990-1991; a member of the Vermont Bar Association Board of Managers, 1976-77; a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Advocacy.

He was a force behind the formation of the Franklin County Bar Association Free Legal Clinic. He was also the general manager of the Hunting and Fishing League baseball team, the Tortfeasers.

The joys in David's life were his family, especially his children; his Belvidere hunting camp and surrounding woods. David was an avid gardener and his flowers were enjoyed by all his friends and family. He loved all sports, but baseball was his favorite. This life-long Red Sox fan left knowing the Sox were in first place.

Yarnell of Bozeman, Montana, and Bryan P.
