Looking Back at 2008...and Ahead to 2009
Hard to believe that another year is about to end...Some great moments occurred in 2008, including the White Sox and Cubs making the baseball playoffs (but sadly, both teams lost in the first round), Natasha surviving her first year in college, my reconnection with my old high school classmates via MySpace, and, last but not least, the election of Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America. Now what's in store for 2009? Hopefully, a lot more great things, such as the beginning of Obama's first term in office and my cousin getting through sophomore year. And I'm now preparing to play my annual holiday gigs with the band, so I know it'll go better than last year. The price of gas has been at its lowest levels since 2005. Which means that I might drive down to Raleigh this Christmas! I can hardly wait to see Natasha, and I know she'll be excited about returning home from college, which has treated her well so far. She's seriously considering setting up her own MySpace page, so we can stay connected, and I'm encouraging her to pull the trigger on that one. Anyway, I want to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday season. You know, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and everything else. Now it's time to get ready for my upcoming holiday shows, so I hope the season goes well for all of you this year!
