What's Happened So Far...
Well, 2008 has been a year of some wild and wacky changes, and in some cases, sad. Like the demise of six jazz stations in Baltimore, Washington, New York, Portland, Houston and Denver. This is a major debacle for the genre, and I feel the pain of my fellow Baltimoreans (you know, I used to live there for six years). Last time I heard, Denver is getting a new station, and I hope it lasts longer than the first two efforts (KHIH 95.7 and CD104.3). On the bright side, WNUA is still going strong after 21 years in the business, so it worked out well. As for Natasha, she's currently back home in Raleigh for the summer, getting ready for her second year of college in less than two months. I've been so busy with my music lately that I haven't gotten a chance to write in my blog until now. I don't know how the rest of the year will go, but I hope that everything continues to go well for me and my loved ones. My cousin Dion is planning to go to San Francisco for his wedding, and I'm happy for him because he's finally found someone to love, even if it's another man. That's right, same-sex marriages are now being performed in California, and lots of couples are going there in droves. On the other hand, I'm content with my own relationship with a woman who loves me so much that she can't wait for me to return. I'm hoping to do just that soon. But until then, I'll continue to count down the days. As much as I love Chicago, part of me wants to go back to Baltimore and continue my unfinished business there. Well, if that ever comes to pass, I'll tell you all about it. And by the way, Happy Fourth of July! I hope you have a safe holiday, and enjoy the picnics, fireworks and all that good stuff!
