Keeping it smooth, from Chicago to the world beyond!
Ten Years Ago Tomorrow...
I remember it like it was yesterday. It's the day my parents bought me a brand-new car, a green '98 Toyota Camry. That's when it first became the best-selling car in America, and it still holds that title today. And now, ten years later, it still runs like new. Before I got my Camry, I drove a borrowed Cutlass Supreme to school and later to work. My parents already promised me a new car when I first got my license just before senior year, and they delivered on it. My younger brother Walter also learned to drive in the Cutlass, and eventually it ended up being his car. As far as I know, he still has it today. As for my Camry, I've always enjoyed driving it around Chicago and down to North Carolina, and it has never given me any serious problems. Sure, it was totaled once, but other than that, I've had a terrific experience with it. I remember seeing either an '07 or '08 model while visiting a former classmate's MySpace page, and I was so impressed with her ride that I asked her where she got it. If I ever get a new car, it'll most likely be another Camry, but for now, I like the one I currently have, and I plan to keep it for as long as I can. Looking back, this was the best Christmas gift I could've asked for. Thanks, Mom and Dad! I love you.
