Keeping it smooth, from Chicago to the world beyond!
On the Road to Raleigh
I just woke up, and I decided to write my last post before leaving for North Carolina. I'm preparing to pack my bags into my car and prepare for a long drive back south. I know that sometime this evening, Natasha will be returning from college, so that's going to be a very special time for me. It's rainy here in Chicago, so I'll have to take my precious time in getting there. Hopefully I can make it into Raleigh before midnight, and I'm planning to stay until Sunday. I've already picked out my CD's for the trip, and since I'll be on the road for at least 13 hours, I'll be playing mostly jazz, with some R&B thrown in. Meanwhile, Walter has been invited to spend the holiday at a friend's house, so he won't be able to make it to Raleigh. On a lighter note, I've come to accept my cousin Dion's homosexuality, which is something I wouldn't have thought of in a million years. He also told me that he met a nice guy named Robert Smith, and they're spending Thanksgiving together at Robert's home in Detroit, so Dion isn't coming to Raleigh, either. It doesn't matter anyway, because I can finally say that I'm able to control my anger better than I ever was before. In the weeks since I severed ties with the guy from Charlotte who I blamed for my anger problems, I've made big progress on improving my life, and I'm about to celebrate my newfound freedom in Raleigh with my favorite cousin Natasha, who is doing very well at A&T. I can't believe it's been three months since I got her settled into her college dorm, because it seems like yesterday when I did it. But now she's coming home to celebrate, and I can't wait to see her again. Natasha's considering getting a MySpace page of her own, and I already promised her that I would add her if and when she got it. Well, I must close for now, because I'll have to make breakfast and get dressed. But to anyone who reads this, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, and may you spend it with the ones you love. Travel safely!
