Witch’s Hat Acrylic on Canvas, 2000 |
|
| |
This interesting building is across the street from the Washington House. It was built around 1900, and was the home of the uncle of Walter E. Baum, the famous impressionist painter associated with the New Hope school of painting. I loved the way the turret cast its shadow against the rest of the house. The turret looked like a witch’s hat to me, hence the title. This was a small painting (11 X 14) and it was completed shortly after finishing the Washington House.
