New York Hotel

Acrylic on Canvas Board, 2002

This old hotel sits on the corner of 41st Street & 8th Avenue in New York City. I was walking across the street from the Port Authority one morning on my way to work, and was struck by the amazing shadows being cast by the fire escapes on the side of the building. I am particularly proud of this painting as it was accepted for exhibition in a national juried exhibition in New York. This was the first time I ever entered a contest and to be accepted and then have my painting hung on the wall of the prestigious Salmagundi Club in Manhattan was a thrill beyond description.
