Tv Show Description:
The Dukes of Hazzard was a comedy series. Boss Hogg ransHazzard County. Well, except for the Dukes anyway. It's not that he didn't want to run them too, but their car named "General Lee" was just too darned fast and they were too darned smart for Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane to catch them! Speaking of the car, it was bright orange in color with a confederate flag on the roof. The horn played the first few notes of "Dixie" and you could be sure that it would be involved in car chases and unreal jumps in every episode. Oh yeah, one small word about Daisy Duke ... NICE HOT PANTS!!!! Lots of "Good Old Boy" action and fun!

Dukes of Hazzard Tv Show Trivia:
The General Lee car was a 1969 Dodge Charger. However, sometimes they used 1968 and 1970 Chargers on the Dukes Of Hazzard for close-up shots.
Bo and Luke had been caught running moonshine and put on probation. Therefore, they weren't allowed to have guns so they used bows and arrows to get into trouble instead.
The Dukes of Hazzard tv show was a spin-off of a series titled, "Flo's Yellow Rose". Boss Hogg was a cast member on the show who was passing through town.
In order to control how far the General Lee car would jump during a stunt, they put different amounts of cement in the trunks.
When John Schneider and Tom Wopat refused to re-sign their Dukes of Hazzard cast contracts (for the 5th season) over a dispute, there was a nationwide search for replacements. Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer were selected to appear as Coy and Vance Duke, Luke and Bo's cousins. When the dispute was over, John Schneider and Tom Wopat returned and everything was back to normal.
The "P" in Roscoe P. Coltrane stands for "Purvis".
The town where the episodes took place was Covington, Georgia.
Luke Duke had served in the Marine Corps. before returning to Hazzard County.
Catherine Bach's hot pants were so "adored" that hot pants became commonly called "Daisy Dukes"!!!
Way back in the past, Uncle Jesse and Boss Hogg had actually been friends and had made Moonshine together!
The Bar on the Dukes of Hazzard tv show was called the "Boar's Nest".
Sonny Shroyer (Enos Straitt) appeared in the movie "Forest Gump" starring Tom Hanks. He played the part of Bear Bryant.
The Duke boys got the General Lee car after it was seized from a couple of guys who used it as their getaway car in a bank robbery.
John Schneider was only 18 years old when he first appeared on the Dukes of Hazzard cast as Bo Duke!
Ben Jones (Cooter Davenport) went on to become a Congressman from Georgia, until he was beat by Newt Gingrich!
James Best (Roscoe P. Coltrane) received his training as an actor at Juilliard! He also had a black belt in Karate!
