Born in New York City, he was awarded a Naumberg Scholarship to the Juilliard School,(B.M., M.M.) where he
studied with William Lincer and Eugene Becker. Further studies were at the Curtis Institute of Music with Joseph DePasquale and Felix Galimir. He has received numerous honors, most notably the Windsor Pirze, awarded by Leonard Bernstein, and the Edward Steuermann Prize awarded by the Juilliard School.
As soloist on both the viola and viola d'amore, he has appeared with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the AIMS Orchestra in Graz,Austria; the Curtis Symphony, the Colorado Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Singers, the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra, the Symphony of the United Nations, the Saratoga Symphony and the Swarthmore Chamber Orchestra, and the Giovani Chamber Orchestra,among others. 
He performed in a gala concert for the former president of Germany and, as a conductor, for former vice-president Al Gore. He performed as soloist on live German television; recitals in New York,(solo:Lincoln Center; Chamber Music: Carnegie Hall) Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Miami,and toured Germany as a member of the SALZAU String quartet.
He was a co-founder of the Laurel Festival of the Arts,and performed frequently with the Pensacola Music Festival and the San Francisco Symphony Chamber Players.
Mr. Fleischman has been principal violist of the SANTA FE OPERA ORCHESTRA for several seasons, and performed for many seasons as a member of the SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY. He has also performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, as a principal of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the Florida Philharmonic, the New Century Chamber Orchestra, the Hamilton Philharmonic, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, the Colorado Philharmonic and the Juilliard Orchestra.
Mr.Fleischman lives in Miami, Florida, where is Professor of viola, as well as director of Strings and Chamber Music at the renowned NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS. His students have won numerous competitions, and have appeared as soloist with several orchestras,including the Moscow State Orchestra and the New World Symphony, with conductor Michael Tilson Thomas.
He has given masterclasses in Venezuela, Mexico, Germany and at universities throughout the United States.
He is also an active recording artist, collaborating with artists such as Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias and Placido Domingo.
