In my opinion, the airbrush is the most versatile way to paint.

From fine detail to large blends, it's all in mixing the paint just right. Of course, it takes a lot of practice to get comfortable with it, just like using any other tool. I mostly paint on hard surfaces, from bikes to busses, and anything in between. Painting just about anything from mild to wild. I also airbrush on canvas.

If you can dream it, I can paint it.

Before doing any paintwork for a customer, we kick around ideas he or she may have. That way I get a feel for what they want. I'll do a few sketches to get a better idea what the project can look like. I also use a computer and image editing software to show what the paint job will look like on a picture of their vehicle. Of course, give me a photo or picture and I can reproduce a pretty good copy of it.

Trial and error.

I bought my first airbrush in 1972 at 13 years old. Back then I painted posters, bedroom walls, and bicycles. Also a lot of t-shirts for friends. When I was old enough to drive, I painted up my first car and then other's cars in high school. Learning how to use automotive paints without any guidance or training was pretty tough. A few years later I got a job at a custom van paintshop, painting mostly murals. I really learned about automotive paints back then, I was spraying candys and pearls before I knew what a DA was (dual action sander). Durring the late 70's, I worked for a guy named Juan Parker in Columbus Ohio, He was a great inspiration to me. He was the best airbrush artist I've ever seen. I learned a lot from him in the short time I was fortunate enough to work for him.

Keeping up with the ages

Since I'm using a computer for designing stuff nowadays. I use a vinyl cutter for making some of my stencils. It's another tool for doing a great job. I also make vinyl decals for some of my customers.

Have a great day
