What the Hell did he just say?

I have to thank my parents for encouraging me to do what made me happy. They knew I had a business degree but they also knew I was a music man and had a love for writing and singing songs.

I decided to take the road less traveled after college by writing and singing songs about what I saw.

Some of the best songs that I think I have personally written (we could stop there, but we just cant) have come to me while taking the roads less traveled.

One time I couldn't sleep so I drove to Chicago and took Air Jamaica to Mo-Bay alone. I rented a dirt bike and traveled to Bloomington, Jamaica writing songs.

When I am living on the edge and I look fear in the eye I ended up with a bunch of songs later on.

There is always a creative brew inside of me waiting to be tasted. Girlfriends have obviously inspired me as well as some Rasta friends and shots of Jagermeister .

In a nutshell it is all about life.

The things I feel and see in the present moment have been the most influential.

People are amazed that I can write a song just about anything.

The biggest buzz I have gotten is seeing smiling faces singing along to my songs and knowing that I can give people a reality break from their lives.

I want to spread my music around the world. (Take solace in that this can be stopped)

I would love to do a national tour and learn about other cultures.

I have sold thousands of CDs by myself and the Internet has helped me go national. It may or may not be in my interest to sign with a label. It would definitely be in theirs.

My favorite thing to do is a bootleg. I also have CDs of me playing all Dead, Buffett or Marley.

I have a passion for music but that comes from the passion I have with life and the present moment. My music tells a lot about me, I write all of my songs.

Tell your sister to bring all of her friends and be prepared for one hell of a rocking roll show. Irie, Rick

Do you guys think I should put the new song
on the new cd? "Took my Little Sister to the grocery store" I actually wrote the verses back here in the states. Or should they be left out.
In the 26 times that I have visited Bloomington, Jamaica I will have to chalk this trip up as one of the best next to Y2K.

I can't explain
in words the way I feel about the Bloomington, Jamaican people and I am glad that you all got see it first hand.
They are a one of a kind. It was nice to see everyone respect the 3rd world way of life.

The protesters who are sitting around complaining need a sharp kick in the ass. Maybe they need a little taste of reality. Maybe they need a plane to smash into and destroy their family. Maybe they also need to realize that we are not going to stop after Bin Laden but to keep plugging away until we can make this a safe world. In war sometimes people have to die to save other humans as well as humankind.

We can still
see the touch of gray but we are strong.

If it were not for people like you then I am sure there would have been several more attacks like 9/11 that may have crippled us to a large extent.

Saturday at about 12 p.m. I was walking down
West Broadway and heading towards ground zero.
The studio that we were recording at was only
a couple blocks from the rubble.

This surprised me as I had just
taken a picture of another hero who had warned
me to get down from a cement block that I was
standing on.

There was a residue at the back of my throat and
I can tell you it twisted me up for about 20
minutes.

It felt amazing
to be in a city full of heroes.
