| WHATS HAPPENED SO FAR...
1) The reluctant villain Might (Crater-Maker). The serene Jedi Knight Jamaleh (aka Jam). The anti-authority wild-child, Arctica White. The geriatric super-hero, Stretch. The Martian swordsman, Fractal. All these adventurers wake-up in mystic, rune-covered stone sarcophogi...abducted and stored by the techno-wizards of The Abyss. The Abyss, an ancient organization bent on regaining world domination, is randomly pulling people and things from other dimensions...trying in vain to find their ancient, banished leader. At this time, however, the underground Abyss base is under attack by an unidentified paramilitary group! A mysterious, black-clad leader of the assault force shows our team the way out. Our heroes use the turmoil to fight through some Abyss agents and escape the crumbling caverns...through an underground riverand into the wilds of northwest Canada. NOTE: after imbedding one armored troop into the cave floor, and another into a cave wall, Might is informally renamed Crater-Maker (or just Crater). |

| 2) Fractal wanders off into the night, and disappears without a trace. Our heroes rescue a wounded Abyss agent and battle the escaped, fire-breathing Hell-Hound that was eating him! Stretch captures the slavering beast, and carries it around for the rest of the day! Eventually Stretch relents, and Jamaleh executes Burnie. Stretch is heartbroken. With the survival skills of Arctica and Jam, the team avoids freezing and starvation (and has bear for breakfast!).
The transparent trucker Diamond Bob gives our group a ride to the remote town of Minerva a haven for paranormal mutants. The buildings are strangely built like fortified bunkers, but the strange people are friendly enough. Our heroes acclimate to this new world, and soon learn they are from slightly different times as well as dimensions! Its September 1999 in this world but Arctica comes from a world in the near future...and theres no telling where and when Jamaleh came from! Stretch and Crater are from the same world. The two were on opposite sides of the law, - rivals, on an earth very similar to this one. Crater downplays his past, but Stretch wont let him forget! This world has networks of paranormals (a.k.a. Phenoms) working as heroes and villains (a.k.a. Blue and Red Players). With some assist from the orphaned hero-groupie, Jessica (the Owl-Girl), the team officially registers online as the Drifters...and waits for the next bus out of town. |

| 3) Crater and Stretch get jobs, as dishwasher and garbage man. Money is tight, and the former enemies are forced together as roommates.
A nearby logging camp is attacked by a murderous demon (another escapee from the destroyed Abyss base)! Our heroes destroy the demon, and each gains a $1,000 reward! Crater is tempted by the camps payroll safe, but stays clean. NOTE: the team uses some of their money to have mini walkie-talkies built...two-way radios which get destroyed in their very next fight! |
||||||||||||||||
| 4) The Sex Offenders (Big O, the Flasher, and Peeping Tom) rob a bank in Minerva! Arctica quickly dispatches them and takes the Flashers flash belt! Its soon rebuilt into a wristband device.
Meanwhile, a genius armored hero escapes from an underwater sarcophagus in the now-demolished Abyss base. The mere sight of his silver/white-and-gold armor terrifies Jessica the Owl Girland he pursues the frightened teenager to Minerva to explain himself! Ramjet is now, by default, one of the Drifters! The team looks for the long-awaited bus out of town...and finds it demolished, outside of town! The extra-dimensional barbarians GWAR with their pet triceratops have captured and brainwashed the bus passengers as the first step of building a world-dominating army! Despite mind-controlling Crater, this plan is quickly ended. |

| 5) Our heroes return to Minerva in time for an invasion by Immaculate Earth paramilitary racial purists bent on exterminating all freaks, mutants, and Phenoms. Theyve attacked before, in years past but never with this much firepower! Crater takes down a small army of gunmen and white-and-gold armored knights with one blastwalks away from three missile strikesand imbeds an engine block into a 30 ft-tall demolition mech! Ramjet finishes the mechand the Drifters buy enough time for reinforcements to arrive. The UN Peacekeepers demolish the remaining Immaculate Earth force with a squad of energy-armored GAAF troops (Global Armored Attack Force). Minerva is saved...but our heroes are taken into custody!
NOTE: the critically wounded Diamond Bob begs our heroes to complete his delivery to Quebec. Stretch readily agrees and Crater rolls his eyes. |

| 6) The Drifters are individually interrogated, and their technology is temporarily confiscated, analyzed and cataloged (GAAF hoards technology). Jams light saber is upgraded with a new, non-lethal attack. Yet another extra-dimensional Abyss abductee is introduced to the team the charismatic, Aussie pretty-boy, Sidekick. Still in Canada, our heroes are given UN world-citizen IDsand the choice of keeping them, or eventually applying for US citizenship (the UN and US are politically at odds).
Road trip time! The Drifters take the late Diamond Bobs truck and its mystery cargo eastward. En route, our team almost runs over a panicked, naked man! Before they can get an explanation, a squad of cops shows up...vampire cops! And the naked man is a werewolf! A fight ensues, the werewolf is executed, and the ultimately victorious Drifters not knowing what else to do speed off in their truck! Stretch has vampire nightmares for months! |
||||||||||||||||
| 7) The mercenary group Smackdown stops Diamond Bobs truck with a roadblock. "El Toro Guerrero", "RamScoop", "Black Fox", Full Throttle, and Grid. They want the truck, and its mystery contents! A fight ensues. Stretch quickly finds himself entangled and pummeled by Gridthe unlucky Sidekick is quickly defeatedand Craters powers instantly vanish when Full Throttle punches him!...but Arctica, Jam and Ramjet battle on! Ultimately, Smackdown lives up to its name. The truck is gone, and Jessica the Owl Girl finds our unconscious heroes! | ||||||||||||||||

| 8) Going to the complex where Diamond Bobs truck was supposed to be delivered, were introduced to the global organization WYRM. WYRM is a neutral organization, politically working towards an eventual world government. Despite a rocky start with the excitable Baron Arturo Tibold, the Drifters are hired to reclaim their stolen truck cargo.
NOTE: Sidekick steps out on a personal mission a walkabout to prove to himself that this is, indeed, a different world than his own. The Drifters land on a virtually-abandoned freighter, in the mid-Atlantic, during a storm! The mystery cargo was a trio of tentacled, other-dimensional creatures captured from the Dark City at Tunguska, Siberia! The freighters crew released the creatures, and paid the price. Their desiccated, drained corpses are hidden about the ship! The Drifters recapture the creatures, each earning an outrageous $10,000+ paycheck! Mission accomplished...leaving the team in Boston. Will the Drifters find their purpose in this world...or will they find a way back to their own worlds? Will they become US citizens, or stay UN world citizens? Will Stretch learn to trust Crater? Who hired Smackdown...and why do they want the Tunguska creatures? Why do Baron Tibold and WYRM want the creatures? How will Crater spend his $10,000? How come Canadian Family Services isnt tracking-down the runaway minor, Jessica the Owl-Girl? Does Jessica have a last name...other than Owl-Girl? What happens when Immaculate Earth shows up with their big mechs? Why cant werewolves and vampires just get along? ...and just what did happen to the martian warlord, Fractal?? |
