Synopsis:

This was supposed to be the backstory for the two guys that trained
James, but got to wierd and doesn't mix well with the Chronicles of War
standard line, even in this form.

Cast:
----------

Jerry Barnes: Military man through and through. An excitable, deadly
Navy SEAL. An expert in explosives and electronics. Built like an angry
bulldog, Jerry has a reputation of being unstable in the field, but
dependable in the worst pinches.

Cory Andrews: Cory never wanted to be a soldier, he was just gifted in a
way most people weren't, and when his country called on him, he came
through. Cory retired after he had an epiphany. He wanted to ensure that
nothing but good could come from his action. Shortly after making this
decision he was faced with a series of hardships that led him through
this story. He never lost his way, though for a while the path was
obscured.

X-san: The Japanese Mr. X who works for the Unnamed Agency (different
from the Nameless Agency and No Such Agency below). X-san is a
reasonable, polite man who had the misfortune of hiring Jerry and Cory
to stop an alien invasion. His contact with them was almost always
face-to-face, in formal but public settings. X-san is mostly a
background man, not a field agent, and always provided that one missing
piece of useful information.

Dude with briefcase: First on the run, then found dead by Cory just
before he leaves for the middle east. No given name, but he's a courier
of some kind.
