Synopsis:
----------

Jake Hobbs. Frank Logan. Two renegade enforcers for a high-profile crime
ring. They're your basic thugs, but very good at their jobs. One day,
they get orders from their contact; kidnap and deliver. They go to the
unfortunate guy's house and get caught between a group of private guards
and a SWAT team. Narrowly escaping, the pair makes their way to a safe
house and are later contacted by the man who set this up. Profuse
apologies start but quickly finish, and they're asked to complete the
job.

This time, the gang wants their target dead.

They catch up to the target by following him out of a business building
(the man was meeting with a lawyer who works for the gang on the side),
and get into another firefight with the guards in the parking garage.
They hap-hazardly kidnap the target, properly, this time. After driving
out to an empty valley in the middle of nowhere, they try to off the
guy, only to find they aren't up to it.

You see, these two aren't killers. They were never ordered to
assassinate anyone in their line of work, and hate the thought of ending
another life. A handful of acquaintances have died 'on the job,' and
they have had to kill a few people to save their own hides, but that's
the worst part of their jobs. Because of this personal integrity, they
have pretty normal lives, including girlfriends that know what they
really do and don't mind too much.

Any way, the target tells them how the government was usurped in 1963
with the assassination of JFK, and how they are planning to consolidate
control over the country, beginning with the gang these two enforcers
work for.

The pair lets their 'target' go and meets their contact at the diner as
scheduled. After another massive firefight, they order the guy to
permanently leave them alone.

If you don't know what 'scion' means, look it up in the dictionary.

The purpose of this exercise is not to write a story, but to write John
Woo style gunfights. Really _good_ gunfights. This requires a (minimal)
back story, so I made up a quick one. Sure, the back story could be
written into this tale in-depth, but I'm going to skip over most
everything _except_ the gunfights. I don't yet know for sure where this
fight scene style exercise will help, but I can see S:E using it,
sometimes, but the two stories which will primarily benefit are Ties
Unbroken (gun-toting magical girl), and Into the Darkness (same as
previous, but with lesbians). Chronicles of War? Not really, because
Chronicles has its own imperfect, half-assed style of hand/gun/anything
combat that fits the feel of the story. That fight scene style has been
evolving for several years, and is effective, even if lackluster. Change
it? No. Update it? Well, some improvements could be made.

After this 'story' is complete, I'll crank out a few short essays on
writing this type of fight scene, and maybe post this exposition on the
FFML, along with a few contrasting scene (one from S:E, one from C.o.W.,
and probably the powerstone match from Ultra).
