Number: 26 Title: The Psycho Sidestep Crossover Project Type: Fan fiction / original fiction crossover Chronicles of War The Untouchables Silence of the Lambs Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 ---------- Core idea: ---------- A morass of gags, gallows humor, and supposedly snappy dialogue twisting up and reenacting scenes from the above media. Didn't make sense when it was written down, and doesn't make sense now. ---------- Idea/Scene: ---------- [Dave is the leader. Trey is the guard. Ed leaves the suitcase. James is the cannibal. The Kight Sabres are a group of mercenaries that are taking justice into their own hands to hunt down a killer stalking MegaTokyo. Genom, the private security firm, has hired the Sidestep crew to take down the killer. They visit a famous mass-murder, James Rahn, in prison to get his advice for catching this killer. Genom then extends help to the Kight Sabres, but keeps them from contacting the crew. The crew finally starts poking deep, and finds out Genom is behind the whole thing, and the 'killer' is an experimental boomer project. Enter epic climax battle to the death, The End.] Three men was all it took. The first was large and imposing, muscled under his black trench coat in the way one might think of a planet as a large piece of real estate. His mop of short black hair was slicked into a spikey mess, lording above a wide, smiling, and very tan face. The second man was slightly taller than the first, but lacked the raw muscle of his companion. His hair was a very dark brown, cut short and conservatively, and combed to perfection. The third man was slightly shorter than the other two, and, by comparison, sported a sleight build. His hair was bleched blond and cut so short it was little more than peach fuzz over his head. Despite the fact his companions probably had twice the third man's mass, the third one seemed to be the leader. All three wore sunglasses. The first man took up a position next to the barbershop's only door. The door was in a corner, bay windows covering the rest of the front wall. Somehow, the huge man fit between the doorframe and the wall. Somehow. The second man followed the leader to a chair. Since the rest of the shop was empty, the Japanese proprietor was quick in getting the smaller man ready for a close shave. The second man quickly produced a briefcase, from which he extracted a local newspaper, and began to read. The leader relaxed himself, letting the barber work his magic. After a few `hairrowing' minutes, the leader had a pair of baby-smooth cheeks (on his _face_), which he patted admirably. "Thank you, Jiro." He said with genuine appreciation. "Thank you for the business, Mr. R." Jiro responded in kind, wiping his razor clean on a fresh towel. Mr. R quickly produced some large notes and handed them to Jiro. "Cherio." A nearly invisible nod to his companions, and the trio left the barbershop without another word. "Strange guys." Jiro said, watching them leave. He glanced at the bills Mr. R had given him, smiling and he counted three times the cost of his services. He put the money right in his pocket, and picked up the newspaper the second man had been reading. That's when he noticed the briefcase was beeping. [Outside.] "Got the case?" Asked `Mr. R.' Dave looked at his empty hand, his face suddenly turning ghostly white. James, a.k.a. Mr. R, turned back to the barbershop, just in time to see Jiro come running out of the front door like a Hell's demons had decided to feast on his internal organs for a lunch buffet. He was only a dozen steps away from the building, at a flat-out run, when the briefcase exploded, gutting the shop in a single pyrotechnic display that put entire American action movies to shame. As the debris began to fall down around them, Dave said, "Oops." "Yeah," Echoed James weakly. "Oops." "Cool." Said Ed. The other two turned to their comrade slowly, their hands both moving into their trench coats. Ed stopped chuckling after a second and caught them out of the corner of his eye. "Wha? Guys?! NOOOO!!!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Psycho Sidestep Crossover Project By Rick Spiff File #1: Hot Choco-latte ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction and should be treated as such. James Rahn, Durankov, Dave Handleton, Ed Flemming, and Lisa Goben are part of the Sidestep Expanded Fictional Universe.
