The operational system will be based on Amiga OS. Actually the OS will be an Amiga OS evolution not necessarily an Amiga OS 3.9 evolution.
Linux operational system could be native (third party ported) as emulated (as we'll emulate x86 we can do it with Linux).
The operational system should be modular (and it will be since it's based on Amiga OS), clean and fast.
The directory structure will look like this: /s for scripts /dev for device drivers /storage for inative devices storage /c for command line interpreters commands /work for user's files /system for system files /lib for function libraries
Installing a new hardware (mainly peripherals) will be as simple as putting the device driver in the /dev directory.
No device driver should point to another system place program.
Programs will not be allowed to write or install files at the system areas.
All programs access requisitions must be gived to OS, it will provide the necessary resources.
Any program trying to break this rules will be cosidered malware and will be removed from the system.
Rigid installation rules must be observed by the installation programs. If they don't obey such rules they will not be installed.
All, and I mean really all, running applications shoul be listed for the user. This list must have a clear definition of what they do and the user will be allowed to finish them at any time (No hidden tasks).
The system will be allways in graphics mode even at initial start-up. We have full processing capacity for that and we don't need to detect any additional hardware to show the screen to user (all video hardware is proprietary and on board). So the "text mode" (terminal/console screens) must be graphical, supporting any font desired by the user (even true type ones).
There must be 3D animated icons.
The Living Desktop concept must be implemented.
Tasks windows must be able not only to be minimized but also miniaturized (a smaller version of the window using less desktop space).
When minimized, main applications will be placed in a 3D animated cube positioned at one of the screen corners (the user could set its position).
Obviously the Original Amiga Emulator will come previously installed and able to access all the system disks. However security rules still applies.
All roms for this emulator will come already installed (roms 1.3, 2.x, 3.x).
