The Italian connection is evident not only from the fact that at least some of the covers of the Turkish albums [click here for cover scans of the full set] are taken from the said Italian album series, but also because, in a few occasions, the Turkish publishers have inadvertedly left some speech balloons untranslated from the Italian! It should also noted that the tiny typefaced copyright notices in the strips have been scrapped; however, in one occasion, the original copyright notice has been left untouched, revealing a British copyright at the original source... Presumably, this means that the Italian albums had taken their materials from British sources, but it is not clear whether the scrapping of the copyright notices is the work of Turkish or Italian publishers although the former are the more likely culprits as Nerbini had acquired license from Disney and yet a confirmation of the unscrapped presence of British copyright notices in Nerbini's albums would be welcome. |
