| Let me start by saying this is 10x better than H20. Think of HALLOWEEN 4 and HALLOWEEN 6 and you have a combination that makes up HALLOWEEN 8. The suspense comes by the truck load. Rick has done an amazing job at building up suspense in almost every scene. For the first time since HALLOWEEN 4 I was actually scared of Michael. He's meaner than ever in this one. He's so mean that every murder scene is extremely bloody and violent and truly makes Michael a force to be feared. The opening credits appear over a montage of photos from previous sequels ( like in H20) and there are some shots from H4, H5, and H20 but not H6. The opening scene with Laurie Strode is probably one of the best opening scenes in a Halloween movie since HALLOWEEN 2. Just seeing Jamie Lee running for her life gave me goosebumps. Much has been said about her demise but in this version Laurie does NOT die. Michael stabs her, tosses her off a roof, but she lands in a pile of garbage and lives. Michael assumes she is dead and leaves for Haddonfield. The entire opening scene will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. The story then movies to Haddonfield where the plot about the internet web cast begins. We all know what the plot is about so I'll save the long details. But yes, the plot is a little odd considering that Michael SHOULD be looking for John Strode. The movie never explains WHY he goes to Haddonfield instead. If you ask me, Michael goes home simply because he doesn't like the idea of his house being used for commercial property. Maybe in HALLOWEEN 9 he'll go for John. Anyway, the movie has good pace and the charcaters are fairly likeable. Nothing special, but good enough that we like them. Busta Rhymes's characters is really cool and he plays a really nice guy. The movie has lots of old fashioned Halloween style stalking scenes with Michael hiding behind trees, driving around in a garbage truck, and of course, the usual teenager nonsense. What really saves the movie is the climax. There are moments where I was scared shitless. Rosenthal does a good job with the internet stuff and it's really scary. Lots of dark rooms and mysterious shadows, and we even learn of secrets of the Myers house. The last 20 minutes is a real rollercoaster ride of tense suspense as we watch Michael make his way towards the heroine. Michael's death scene, electrocution, is sort of anti-climatic becuause its sort of dull. But rumours are that Rosenthal is re-shooting Michael's death scene. All in all the movie has a dark tone, and Michael looks awsome. His mask is the best its been since Part 6 and he's got the same build and hight he had in Part 4. This movie is gonna surprise people because it really is a lot more than you'll expect.- From a Very Credible Source. Not Official at this point.
