"Re-Possessing" their roles, Marlon and Shawn Wayans and Anna Faris once again lend their comedic talents to another over-the-top horror spoof. While "Scary Movie" targeted the onslaught of teen horror film flicks, the sequel takes aim at the root of the great classic horror movies. Release Dates: Belgium 1 August 2001 Sweden 15 August 2001 Finland 31 August 2001 United Kingdom 7 September 2001 Brazil 14 September 2001 JASON X's Release date gets moved, Again! Jason X has been removed from New Line's original release date of August 17th. Read the original ONE and ONLY thread for a catchup. New Line is currently considering October 2001 or sometime in 2002 (it is NOT going to video, this straight from New Line). Neither of these is the BEST option: Releasing Jason X in October will result in it going head-to-head with Halloween 8. While most of us anticipate Jason X being the better film, Halloween 8 is coming off a very successful installment two years ago while Jason's last installment was an unsuccessful film 8 years ago. Also October is the "designated time" for horror. The last time two horror titans tussled was 1989 with Nightmare 5 vs. Friday 8. Both films suffered at the box office. Release Date: March 2002 |

| Wes Craven to direct remake Scream Trilogy director, Wes Craven is in negotiations with Miramax Films to direct an English-language remake of the recent French hit 'With a Friend Like Harry'. No writer or star has been attached to the remake of the dark comic thriller, which would be produced by Craven and his partner, Marianne Maddalena. The original film premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival last year. It centers around a charming though psychotic man, Harry, who has a run-in with former schoolmate Michel and Michel's wife, Claire. The vacationing couple, with three young daughters, is going through a tough period, and Harry's attempts to help them gradually expose his murderous side. Final Destination 2 script Completed Final Destination producer Craig Perry told SCI FI Wire the he has finished writing the script to the upcoming sequel. "The script is in," Perry said in an interview at this week's Saturn Awards, at which Final Destination took home the award for best horror film." The script was very well received. We are looking for a director. We would love to continue working with director Jim Wong and his partner, producer Glen Morgan, on it, but they have so much effects work on 'The One,' they could never actually help us prep the movie, because we want to shoot it in the fall." Wong previously said that he's not interested in helming the sequel and is busy directing 'The One,' which stars Jet Li. Perry then added, "It pretty solidly builds on the mythology of the first one, and it doesn't shy away from the things that made the first one work, which are the gritty, clever, entertaining and spectacularly over-the-top death sequences. ... I think one of the things that made the first movie interesting is that it didn't rely on computer-generated images," Perry said. "Most of the effects are mechanical effects, in-camera effects, special effects that were done on set practically. I think you can tell the difference, because it's a lot more organic." "So we are definitely going to try and continue that ideal, because it feels like it's a real thing that you're watching. People are so attuned to CG now that they're looking for the seams--they're looking for the weight of the steps. I'd like to use the technology to sell the idea, not to have the idea be the technology." |
