Friday 13th July 2001 The first look at Michael Myers in Halloween: The Homecoming.The picture (Click on Pic for a better look at the Shape) was found on the Vancouver Sun news website on a story about Brad Loree -- Vancouver stunt actor Brad Loree got a big break in his career this year, landing the role of legendary horror film serial killer Michael Myers in Halloween 8, the seventh sequel to the original 1978 Halloween film. During a break from shooting, the 41-year-old, 6-foot-2 1/2-inch, 225-pound Lower Mainland native plunks down for a chat on the stairs outside the Halloween studios on East Vancouver's William Street. His eyes circled in black paint (so they can't be seen behind Myers' mask) he's costumed in army boots and black overalls -- the very same overalls Myers stole from the garage mechanic he murdered in the first Halloween movie.

Outside, it's sunny and hot. Inside, on the set of Myers' dingy, depressing apartment, all manner of horrific deeds are being perpetrated on a group of students who foolishly enter a competition to spend the night there and broadcast it live on the Web. "So far the body count is five, I believe," says a cheerful Loree, "and I'm going to knock off a couple today," adding, "but I'm not much of a killer in real life!" Read the full story Here In other Halloween 8 News Director Rick Rosenthal is currently working on his cut of the film. There is still no confirmation on a composer for the film. The producers are aiming for a late September release of the film. Producers report a trailer should show up around the end of August.

Thursday 26th July 2001 "The powers that be" screened a rough cut of Halloween 8 today for the first time at noon (PT). In other news, Dimension Films has announced the official release date for Halloween 8 will be Friday, September 21st, 2001.

Saturday 18th August 2001 As fans try to adjust to the disappointment of the Halloween 8 delay, director Rick Rosenthal offers a gleam of hope... "Ever since Paramount re-shot the ending of Fatal Attraction and it became a huge hit, studios have become great believers in tinkering with the finale of a film, trying to make sure that the ending is a home run and the audience leaves completely satisfied.I think when the film is released next year, audiences will agree it was well worth the wait!" Thursday 16th August 2001 Bad news on Halloween: The Homecoming, After a meeting today at Dimension Films the Halloween 8 release date has been put back (Yet again) to an Easter 2002 release date! That  mean the rest of the world wont get Halloween 8  untill a year's time.Well the Halloween fun doesn't have to stop because of Halloween 8.We still have the Halloween III comic, Halloween II (us), Halloween: H2O (uk) and a new Special edtion Halloween (uk) DVD'S to look forward this Halloween! Friday 10th August 2001 Darkhorizons.com has reported that the Halloween: The Homecoming's release date been put back from the 21st September to the 5th October 2001.They have also reported one someone who has seen the film and reviewed it- "yesterday I attended a screening of Halloween 8 held in Pasadena, California. The film begins with a credit montage of various scenes from the other Halloween films, as well as shots of Myers switching places with an officer who arrives on the scene. After the credit sequence, lasting just over a minute, we are taken to a Gothic Sanitarium in California where Laurie Strode resides. She is a mess to say the least. Jamie Lee Curtis does a wonderful job once again of showing Laurie's sorrow. Her neck is scarred from a suicide attempt and her hair is mostly shaved off because she tried to set it on fire. Molly, played by Michelle Williams, visits Laurie and gives her a photo of John Strode (Yes, it's actually Josh Hartnett) which brings tears to the otherwise unemotional Strode. Molly leaves and meets up with Michael, now actually scary, unlike his demeanor in the previous film. She is killed, which is followed by Laurie Strode's attack which ends in her falling from the roof and going into a coma, suspected of being the one who killed Molly and then tried to kill herself. This sequence lasts about 9 minutes tops.The rest if the film is standard slasher fare. Bianca Kajlich proves she can act, and scream, and run! Tyra Banks also does well and gets to kick a little Myers-ass and show off her acting talent. Busta Rhymes is the most problematic actor here and becomes annoying after a while. His character isn't all that bad, just his portrayal. Basically, all of the characters run around the Myers house for 80 minutes being chased by Michael. My main complaint with this film is that it just has no purpose. Characters are killed until only Sara, Nora, and Miles are left and the three go up against Myers (much like in H20 with Laurie, Molly, and John). The finale will disappoint fans I'm sure, where we learn of a Myers copycat and we are left wondering if it really was Michael who was doing the killings. The film closes with an eerie shot of the real Myers disappearing into the fog as the credits roll."

19th June 2001 With only 3 days left for production, the set has been busy. Steve Newton, writer for the United Kingdom horror publication Shivers was a visitor on set last week, with an article planned for the  September issue. Ian Bailey of Canada's National Post newspaper visited set Friday, as well - look for a feature sometime this week. All together, a total of 8 different media outlets were on set Friday - and all were wowed by the Myers house set. Brad Loree is getting a lot of attention from the local media. He has been featured in 4 television stories. Vancouver seems proud that a local guy is playing America's favorite movie monster.

Saturday 30th June 2001 The Last Production picture from Halloween: The Homecoming.The pictureis of the full cast and crew infront of theMyers House, I'm glad the house looks like the one in Halloween and Halloween II, remeber the big tower house in Halloween 5 (What was that!) the film is now in Post- Prodution now so next time we have some Halloween 8 news it might be the Trailer or a teaster Poster!"Happy Halloween!"

Monday 7th January 2002 Moustapha Akkad talks about the internet rumors- "The film is fine and will be released in the summer of 2002. Yes, there were re-shoots - but no, Rick Rosenthal has not been fired.The franchise remains in tact." The Rumor was that Halloween 8 had been pushed back again to October 2003.Rick Rosenthal had been fired and Halloween: H2O director, Steve Miner had been hired in his place.Also the in the rumor it said Halloween: The Homecoming had changed its name and was going to be called Halloween 8: The End Of the Boggeyman.Read the full rumor Here.Dimension Films are planing a May, Summer release.
