I currently work as a network engineer. I do in home computer desktop support, including PC tune-ups, repair both hardware and software problems, installations, upgrades, and networking. I have traveled to homes to do in home installations and repair and can take the PC to my home for more extensive work if needed. I have taken the A+ computer repair course; have many years doing electronics repair, CB/ham radio modifications, TV and radio repair, etc. I have taken Cisco systems networking for the CCNA course, Cisco MCNS including IPsec, Cisco Pix firewall, VPN concentrators, AAA, Security policies and associations, several Microsoft computer classes including VPN(Virtual Private Networking), AD(Active Directory), NAT(Name Address Translation) as well. I am very familiar with Windows 9X, Win 2000 and XP. I have done installations and desktop support for Chase Manhattan, Citibank and as a consultant.
In home Labor rate is $60 for the first hour, $35 per hour for each hour there after for all PC repair, upgrades, setup of peripherals, virus removal, etc. If you have a serious issue and can't afford that much, we can probably work something out. Networking and web site design will be $75 per hour. Corporate rate is $75 per hour for PC repair and network troubleshooting in $85 per hour.
Since I live in Nassau county, NY, I will be traveling to most of LI and the 5 boroughs of NYC. There will be a an additional travel fee at the same rate in quarter hour increments based on distance, not actual travel time. I have taken many courses including, Active Directory for Win2000, Name Address Translation, virtual private networking, as well as Cisco networking classes for CCNA at S.U.N.Y. and I am taking the Cisco CSSP course for the CSSP security certificate which includes IPsec, Pix firewalls, VPN concentrators, and IDS.
However, the main work that I will be performing at this time will be PC repair, upgrades, installs, setup and installation of peripherals, networking, other hardware setups, as well as basic to intermediate web design if needed in HTML. This is what I used to create this simple web page; though I will be upgrading this and making it look more advanced in time. Useful if you don't have the knowledge or money to spend $1500-$2000 or more for a more professional web page. Average cost is about $500 for a web site, which can include several pages and links.
