October 8, 2003 Meeting: Minutes: -Discussion of upcoming events Pumpkin-grams: - due: Oct.15 - flyers should be posted already - knocking door to door to advertise - cost $1.00 - delivered Oct. 22 Halloween Haunted House: - Oct. 24 - Friday - Start decorating 1-2 days in advance, everyone help make decorations: Gypsy/Abandoned House theme - Room divided into sections for different events - Food area: left corner of room, food set up on cardboard made coffin - Playing old classic scary movies (Frankenstein, Dracula, etc.) in center of room on TV - DJ on right side of the room - "Please touch" area - where sink is. People are blindfolded and can feel eyeballs, bones, etc. - Materials needed + Purple/red/gold fabric for gypsy tent + Cardboard for coffin and characters on the wall + Black trash bags to cover walls + Fog machine? + Black/white sheets to cover couches + Tissue paper to cover lights + Construction paper + Small figurines to give out for Best Costure (like the Oscar statue) and spray paint them gold, silver, bronze + Polaroid camera/film to take pictures w/ background that will be in the kitchen + Tinfoil to make mirrors + Michael Jackson's Thriller to play at entrance Trading Spaces: - November weekend - Coffee house feel - Mocha/Cranberry colors - Study area: behind and to the left of the stairs - TV in left hand corner of room - Games on the right - ping pong table? - Stairs colored dark mocha - Housing will provide paint, new carpet, tiles - Need to look over Silvers Apt. Important Dates: Wednesday - Oct. 15 -9pm - first RHA meeting on College Ave. Wednesday - Oct. 22 - next hall govt mtg. for everyone |
