Richie is delightful and an all-rounder person, not only in life but in his career as well. His charming personality and joyful demeanor make him well liked by fans all over the world. Despite being tied down with his heavy hectic schedule, he has never once complained. Intead, he will do his very best to achieve outstanding results.

During his university days, he was a D.J. and involved in a lot of musical events and concerts. He also set up a band called "ATP" (Ah Tung Po) with his friends. This is when he started to travel around for road-show performances.

In 1990, he released his first album "Ask Again" ( 再 問 一 次), follow by "Coldness and Politeness" ( 冷 漠 與 溫 柔) and "Fly Towards Own Sky" ( 飛 向 自 己 的 天 空) in 1991 under Xin Ge Records. He also acted in movies, TV dramas and did some commercials.

Life had been depressing for gim after his two years of military service. He wasn't a start anymore. No one really cared and his albums hardly made a ripple. But he believed that if he continued to work hard, he will be successful one day. Well, this prove to be true enough. Look at him today. The brightest nova of Chinese pop and still burning bright.

In 1996, he released his "Soft Hearted" ( 心 太 軟) album under Rock Records. It was a hit single and had the best sales record in Mainland, China. His "Sad Horizon" ( 傷 心 太 平 洋) album has turned him over to a hot career. Richie became an instant overnight sensation. Now, Richie has made his movie mark in "Fly Me to Polaris" ( 星 願), "Summer Holiday" ( 夏 日 的 麼 麼 茶), "Marry a Rich Man" ( 嫁 個 有 錢 人) and etc. In between, there hav been the recordings and concerts. He is also directing MTVs as well and hope to direct movies in the future. His hard work, commitment and perseverance towards his goal have gained him the "Taiwan Iron Man" title. Richie still has that dimple, that mischievous grin and the Hong Kong Press have seen how a nobody can be a somebody just like that.
