Vladimir A. Shatalov
Vladimir Shatalov was selected as a cosmonaut in 1963.  He made his first flight into space serving as the commander of Soyuz 4 in January of 1969.  Next, he commanded Soyuz 8 in October of 1969.  His final mission came in 1971 when he commanded Soyuz 10; this was intended to be the first space station mission but the capsule was unable to dock with the station.  Shatalov retired in 1971 having spent 9 days in space.
