| Ilan Ramon (1954-2003) |

| Ilan Ramon was selected as a payload specialist by NASA in 1997. On January 16, 2003, he was launched into space onboard STS-107 serving as the payload specialist; this made him the first Israeli astronaut. This mission was scheduled to land on February 1, 2003, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. During reentry, the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up over Texas resulting in a loss of the crew and the vehicle. Ilan Ramon died tragically along with the rest of the STS-107 crew. He had logged 15 days in space. My Collection: This is an autographed & inscribed official NASA 8x10 litho of the lost STS-107 crew. Ramon is pictured at the far right standing in the back row. |
