F. Story Musgrave
F. Story Musgrave was selected as an astronaut in NASA's sixth class (1967).  His first mission came in 1983 when he flew as a mission specialist on STS-6, this was the maiden voyage of the Space Shuttle Challenger.  On this mission Musgrave, along with fellow astronaut Don Peterson, became the first men to perform a space walk from the space shuttle.  Next, he served as a mission specialist on the 1985 flight of STS-51-F; this was the second Spacelab mission.  Musgrave made his third flight into space in 1989 as a mission specialist on STS-33.  In 1991, Musgrave as a mission specialist on the STS-44 mission.  His fifth mission was in 1993 when he was the payload commander on STS-61; this was the first mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.  During this mission, Musgrave made three space walks.  He made his final flight into space serving onboard STS-80 in 1996; this was the longest space shuttle flight to date.  He is the only astronaut in history who as flown on all 5 space shuttles.  Musgrave retired from NASA in 1997 having logged 53 days in space during six shuttle flights.

My Collection: This is an autographed and inscribed 8x10 WSS photo of Musgrave.  An autographed WSS photo of him is rare, most of his signed photos are from the shuttle era.
