Richard M. Mullane
Mike (middle name) Mullane was selected as an astronaut in NASA's eighth class (1978).  During his career, he flew on three missions.  His first mission was as a mission specialist on board the Space Shuttle Discovery's maiden flight, STS-41-D in 1984. Next, he served as a mission specialist on STS-27 which flew in 1988.  His final flight came in 1990 when he was a mission specialist on STS-36.  Mullane retired from NASA in 1990 with 14 days of space flight experince.
