| Chiaki Mukai | ||||||||
| Chiaki Mukai was selected by the NASDA and NASA as one of three Japanese shuttle payload specialists in 1985. She made her first flight into space as payload specialist on STS-65 in 1994. Most recently, she served as a payload specialist on the 1998 STS-95 mission; this was the historic shuttle flight on which John Glenn made his return to space.
