James A. McDivitt
James McDivitt was selected as an astronaut in NASA's second class (1962).  During his career, he made two flights into space.  His first mission assignment came in 1965 when he was given the task of commanding Gemini-IV.  This is the famous mission when pilot Ed White made America's first spacewalk and is therefore a very historic mission.  Next, he commanded Apollo 9 in 1969 during which the crew performed the first manned space tests on the Lunar Module.  McDivitt retired in 1972 having logged 14 days in space.

My Collection: This is an autographed Gemini-IV "Space Shots" card.
