Rick D. Husband
(1957-2003)
Rick Husband was selected as an astronaut in NASA's fifteenth class (1995).  He made two space flights during his carer at NASA.  His first voyage into space came in 1999 when he served as the pilot on board STS-96.  His second mission assignment was to command the STS-107 shuttle flight in 2003.  This important shuttle mission was launched in mid January and was scheduled to land on February 1, 2003, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  During the shuttle's reentry, about sixteen minutes before the expected landing, the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up over Texas resulting the the vehicle being destroyed and the crew lost.  Husband perished alongside his crew.  He logged 25 days in space during his two missions.

My Collection: This is an official NASA 8x10 litho of the STS-107 crew which has been autographed by each member.  Husband can be seen in the front row on the far left.
