Jeffery A. Hoffman
Jeffery Hoffman was selected as an astronaut in NASA's eighth class (1978).  During his career at NASA, he was a member of five space shuttle crews.  In 1985, he served as a mission specialist on his first mission designated STS-51-D.  He made his second voyage into space serving as a mission specialist on STS-35 in 1990.  His third mission assignment came in 1992 when he flew on STS-46 serving as the flight's payload commander.  On his fourth mission, he served as a mission specialist on board the 1993 mission STS-61.  His final mission came in 1996 when he flew on STS-75 serving as a mission specialist.  Hoffman retried from the astronaut corps in 1997 having spent a total of 50 days in space.

My Collection: This is a water survival training course cover which Hoffman has autographed (along with four other astronauts).  His signature can be seen close-up below the cover.
