C. Gordon Fullerton
Gordon Fullerton was selected by the United States Air Force to be a member of the USAF Manned Orbiting Laboratory Program in 1966.  This was a plan in the developed by the U.S. Department of the Defense to be basically a manned orbiting spy satellite. The MOL program was cancelled in June of 1969.  Fullerton was then selected as an astronaut in NASA's seventh class (1969).  He would fly into space twice but would have to wait until the shuttle program.  His first mission came in 1982 when he served on STS-3 as a pilot, this was the third of four shuttle "shake-down" flights.  Next, he commanded STS-51-F in 1985.  He left the astronaut office in 1986 having spent 15 days in space.

My Collection: This is an 8x10 photo of Fullerton inside a jet which he has autographed and inscribed.
